 Park County Colorado is a rual community with all kinds of outdoor recreation available. Summer activities such as fishing, mt. biking, horseback riding, wildlife veiwing are just a few of the activities to be found within an hour of the main town of Fairplay. Winter activities include cross country skiing, back country skiing, snow mobiling, and ice fishing can also be found right out of town.  

20 minutes from Fairplay is Summit County that has many of the same activities plus, World class downhill skiing at one of 4 top resorts, and in the summer sailing on lake Dillon one of Colorado's premier lakes.

Wildlife, horseback riding, and fishing abound in the area.

 There is great recreational opportunities in Park County. One is all the miles of Gold Metal Fishing waters available. There are 3 large lakes and many streams with rainbow, brook, cutthroat, and brown trout. There are several lakes that also have northern pike. Many miles of horseback riding available in National Forest, BLM, and State lands. Just a short hop to world class downhill skiing, and cross-country skiing can be found just out side of Fairplay.  There are numerous herds of Elk, Deer, Mt. Goats and Bighorn sheep to enjoy.
